Tricks and tips to get the optimal Wilmington, NC rental home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Reserve your rental home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain coupons for local shops and restaurants.

Filter your search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Updated Beach Cottage with Wonderful Pool Near Beach Access has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • If your family is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Tips to have a wonderful stay:

  • We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many concerns.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
