Strategies to get the perfect vacation home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Wilmington, NC area. To find the best value, shift your family's Wilmington, NC vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to pick the best rental:

  • Start by having your family choose trip dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 7BR\/5.5BA House-Oceanfront, Elevated Pool In-Deck, Elevator, Sleeps 24 has 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you book your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your trip.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

Tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many concerns.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
