Strategies for getting the perfect Wilmington, NC vacation home experience:

When to visit Bald Head Island & When to book:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Wilmington, NC area. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • To start, have your family select date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Charming 2 Bedroom near desirable East Beach! Shoals club available has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or applied to your invoice.

Advice for a terrific stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. message the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
  • At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
