Tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Wilmington, NC area. Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Wilmington, NC area travel guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, picking, and booking your Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • Start by selecting your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Hobbs Realty - Come enjoy many \"Happy Ours\" at this charming home located on a deep water Holden Beach canal has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. If not, contact the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a specific Wilmington, NC beach you love, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
