Savor this comfortable, yet huge, condo with an ocean view in the heart of Oak Island. It's a great place to relax and also be in very close proximity to the beach, stores, eateries and grocery stores all at the same time. You are likely to not even need to drive unless you want to venture further out to some of the other great attractions the island and close by towns have to offer. The Ocean Crest Pier is also very close by (just a short drive up E. Beach Drive to the right). Come and get away from it all. The hustle and bustle of our little family-aligned island town is nowhere near as crazy as the big city. Here, you're just a short "Ocean Walk" away from total relaxation with still a bit of convenience.

About the Area

Located near the beach, this condo is in Long Beach, a neighborhood in Oak Island. Oak Island Golf Club and Founders Club at St. James Plantation are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those looking for area attractions can visit Bald Head Island Information Center and North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport. Kayaking and water skiing offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with hiking/biking trails and cycling nearby.

Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the Wilmington, NC area. Book your Wilmington, NC rental home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning and picking the rightrental:

  • Start by having your family select trip dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Extremely Spacious & Beautiful, 4 Bedrooms 4 Bathroom Ocean View Condo, Sleeps16 has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is right for your trip.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Additional considerations:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
