Booking the best vacation home experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To book the most suitable rental within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many property management companies supply Wilmington, NC area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Make a plan and choose the right Wilmington, NC vacation home:

  • Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Morning Light - Featured Home in 2010 Haven Magazine has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before reserving your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is best for your vacation.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
