Tricks and tips to get the optimal rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Wilmington, NC area. Booking your Wilmington, NC vacation rental in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. New! Container Home in Heart of Cargo District has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your family.
  • If there's an individual Wilmington, NC beach you are enamored with, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs applied to your agreement.

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • During check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
