Vacation rental booking tips:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer is high season in the Wilmington, NC area. Booking in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
