Strategies to get the very best Wilmington, NC vacation home experience:

When to reserve a Wilmington, NC rental home & When to go:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Selecting the perfect rental in the Wilmington, NC area:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. The Seashell: Charming Bungalow a Short Stroll From the Sand has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
