Our top Rental home booking tips:

Getting the best value:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Wilmington, NC area. Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and choose your prefect Wilmington, NC vacation home:

  • First, have your group choose dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. NEWLY RENOVATED! Welcome to Surf's Up!! OCEANFRONT, Sleeps 10. has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before booking your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your trip.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's an individual Wilmington, NC destination you simply love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • During check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
