Rental property booking tips and tricks:

Money saving strategies:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Book your Wilmington, NC rental property in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Many rental management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and picking the perfect Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • Start by having your group commit to a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Gorgeous ocean views - Both clubs available - 3 carts! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.

More tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
