Tips to get the best vacation property experience:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Wilmington, NC area. Booking your Wilmington, NC vacation rental in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the perfect vacation home in the Wilmington, NC area:

  • Start by having your group commit to vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. OKI Beach House 1 block to Beach, Ocean Crest Pier, and Island Way Restaurant. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If not, contact the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation group.
  • If there's a specific Wilmington, NC beach you simply love, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your invoice.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
