Tricks and tips to get the best Wilmington, NC vacation home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are high season in the Wilmington, NC area. To get the best rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Planning and picking your prefect Wilmington, NC rental:

  • First, have your family decide on a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Palazzo Sul Monte-Sei has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the host before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. message the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
