Tips and Tricks to get the best rental experience:

Get the best rental home value:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Summer is high season in the Wilmington, NC area. To get the best value, try changing your family's Wilmington, NC trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • To start, have your family agree to date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Sun Salutation / 325 E. Beach Drive - Coastal Vacation Resorts has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental

Tips to have a wonderful stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
