Tricks and tips for getting the best vacation property experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • To book the best rental for your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.

Choosing the perfect rental home:

  • Select your dates and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Lovely Ocean Front Upper Level Duplex w Elevator! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
