Finding the best rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Summer months are high season in Oak Island. Booking your Wilmington, NC vacation rental in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on local tours and attractions.

Make a plan and pick the right Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • Start by selecting a vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Oceanview - heated Pool - Elevator - 40A EV Charger - Mins to Beach, Shops and food has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you book your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
  • If there's a particular Wilmington, NC attraction you simply love, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
