Getting the best Wilmington, NC vacation home experience:

When to go & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Summer is high season in the Wilmington, NC area. To get the most suitable rental home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Wilmington, NC attractions and restaurants.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • First, have your family agree to dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Oceanic Apartment in the 'Heart' of Wrightsville Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a specific Wilmington, NC destination you love, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
