Strategies to get the perfect vacation rental experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Wilmington rental home:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • To find the most suitable rental home within budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Wilmington, NC restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Wilmington, NC area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose and book the rightvacation home:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Perfect Downtown Home has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your group.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
