Getting the best Oak Island vacation rental experience:

Getting the best value:

  • The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summer months are high season in the Wilmington, NC area. To get the best value, consider changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and choosing the perfect Wilmington, NC rental:

  • Select dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Spacious clean condo, large pool, plus many extras. Perfect for families. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or applied to your invoice.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
