Welcome to "The Family Beach House", where you are invited to make life-long memories with your family and friends! Appreciate our striking, historic beach home, located just steps away from the gorgeous shoreline of Wrightsville Beach. One of our favorite perks of our home is the location! Not only is it within walking distance to eateries, bars, stores, and Robert's market... our beach access (#24) is located halfway between both of the public accesses and therefore is typically less busy. This timeless gem has been attractively modernized to blend the character and appeal of its past with modern upgrades, making it the ideal comfortable, coastal escape for families and groups of friends to gather.

Inside, you’ll find a thoughtfully designed layout to accommodate bigger groups. Starting with a glance at the layout of bedrooms, the main floor features a smaller queen bedroom that provides simple access to the first floor. While upstairs offers two roomy king bedrooms, each designed with relaxation in mind. One of these bedrooms serves as the primary suite with an en suite bathroom. There is also a queen bedroom, that shares a full-size bath in the hallway with the secondary king bedroom. The "Bunk Room" is a versatile getaway for kids or adult friends, featuring three twin beds, a set of bunk beds, and also stores a pull-out trundle bed if needed. The "Bunk Room" has a wall mounted Intelligent TV that provides a secluded space for kids to pile in for a bedtime movie. It also includes an en suite bathroom with room to share.

With open living spaces downstairs this home gives plenty of options for everybody to spread out, whether calming in the living room, sharing meals in the dining room, or reading on the front porch, this home is ideal for gathering! The entirely supplied, open kitchen includes everything you would need to prepare a meal with a big group. We also offer a charcoal grille to prepare up a coastal catch. There is a separate coffee/beverage bar outfitted to appreciate in the morning with a 12-pot traditional coffee maker and filters, along with a Keurig machine. And for Happy Hour all the essential tools and glasses you would want to mix up your favorite drink or pour a glass of crisp Rose'. For added convenience, there’s a cavernous laundry room with an additional refrigerator for storing bags of ice and drinks, as well as overflow storage for food or beach coolers. And of course full size laundry machines.

The spacious front porch is our personal favorite place to relax! It invites you to soak in the ocean vistas, sounds, and salty breeze. It's the ideal spot for morning coffee, a midday beach read or nap, and of course Happy Hours drinks. There is also an outdoor dining table for card games and meals. But don't forget to try the outdoor shower after a long day in the sun and on the sand, before retreating to the front porch or for a more private spot, savor the adirondack chairs in the back yard.

Tips and Tricks to get the very best rental experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and pick the best Wilmington, NC vacation home:

  • Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. The Family Beach House- a coastal haven just steps away from Wrightsville shore! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If not, call the host before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Advice for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas during check in. message the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
