How to find the best Wilmington vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • Summer months are high season in the Wilmington, NC area. To get the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Make a plan and choose the right Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • Choose your vacation week and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. 2 historic district condos with river-view balconies & highly walkable locale has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • If there's an individual Wilmington, NC attraction you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Upon check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
