Finding the best Wrightsville Beach vacation home experience:

Find your best deal:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Wrightsville Beach. To get the largest vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Wilmington, NC attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and pick your prefectrental home:

  • First, have your group commit to the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. DR 1405 - Beautiful oceanfront condo with tennis, pool and easy beach access has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
